Adam and Eve marriage lessons part 1

Constance van Niekerk

My question will always be about why Adam and Eve were not together when the serpent tempted Eve.

All they had to do was spend their free time with each other when Adam was not tending the garden. Eve was created for Adam after all. She was created because God saw that it was not good for him to be alone. He needed companionship, he needed a helper so, God gave him Eve.

When husband and wife spend TOO much time apart, they give the devil opportunity to tempt either party. This also happens when a couple stops talking and willy nilly gives the devil a chance to start talking to each of them as individuals. Silent treatment is the loudest invitation for trouble in a marriage.

A woman needs attention and affection. That doesn’t mean men must not work. However, we all know that nobody works twenty-four-seven. If as a man you make time for your wife when you’re not working, she will understand the times when you are working. The same goes for the woman. Prioritize each other. Marriage is hard work. It needs both parties putting in some effort. It needs a manual and that’s the Bible.

Adam was not forced to eat the forbidden fruit. He should have been more responsible and told her under no circumstances would they disobey God. Adam probably also wanted to taste the fruit and used Eve as a scapegoat. He simply should have said NO!!! After all he is the man, he is the head of the home. Why is Adam a weak head? Allowing the neck to tell him what to do when he’s the one with the brains?

Why am I saying all this? It is not to stirr up controversy, no ways! I’m just saying men should stop blaming women for being weak because of Eve’s actions in the Bible; Adam was weak too! He could have put his foot down and told Eve she could go live with the snake if she preferred but, there wasn’t going to be any eating of the forbidden fruit in his garden!

When God came, He didn’t call for Eve. He called for Adam, the head. And Adam, instead of telling God where he is, says he cannot come out because he, Adam, is naked. When God asks how he knew, he replies, “The woman you gave me…”

Why was Adam always eluding God’s questions? Do you see a familiar pattern in today’s men? Always giving excuses and not reasons. A man will give an excuse for not marrying a woman, but has no objection to sleeping with her as if she is already his wife.

God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him” (Genesis 2: 18 KJV). Sexual intercourse was never in the equation. If it was, they would have had children in Eden. Men, it is not good that you should be alone. Women were created to be your helpers, it never changed. Give women work to do, let them help you build your dreams and stop blaming them for Eve’s mistake, which Adam could have avoided altogether if he had been man enough. Be a Godfearing man and, unlike Adam, be the leader in your home according to God’s commandments. Any man who is not Godfearing is just like Adam. Put rules in your home, not as a master but a leader. Read the Bible and hear what God says about marriage. In marriage, women and men are not equal, although they’re partners. The man is the head of the home. Men, you are the priests of your home, start being Godfearing. This is the ultimate answer to most societal issues; going back to the basics of marriage.

If husband and wife unite and do things together, the devil has no chance. If we fix our marriages, we fix our families and thereby fix our communities. Marriage is the remedy, not fornication.

The devil has succeeded in tearing up God’s plan for man, MARRIAGE…. this is why our world is in turmoil. Let’s respect marriage. Let’s bring God into the center of our marriages.

Marriage is a union between two people, a man and a woman; it is not based on sexual intercourse.

Being single is not God’s plan for anyone. That’s why He didn’t tell Adam to divorce Eve. And Joseph didn’t divorce Mary.

  1. It’s a simple a mancave, or dog house situation, if you prefer. Eve annoyed Adam. Adam went to his man cave. That’s when the trouble with the snake ensued. I can speak on this from personal experience.
