Eternity

A poem by Mumu da poet, Mpumalanga, SA

I would be happy if you marry me
I would be honoured to wake up next to you for eternity
Serenaded by the sound of a heart that loves me,
I would love to spend every second of my breath with you.

I do not know how much lives I have left,
I do not know how much I will annoy you or frustrate you.
Neither do I know what the future holds for us,
But I assure you that my love will never alter or falter

Love, it would make me glow to grow,
Coming back to a house full of your smiles and laughter
Coming back to the arms of a woman that would hug and cuddle me,
Knowing that I will hear the words ‘I love you’ in the good and bad times ahead

Listening to you snore does not disturb my inner peace or alter the concept of a good night’s sleep,
Sleep walking into your dreams and I dreaming about us brings great pleasure.

I will stumble and fumble,
The thought of your kisses in the morning give my days warm smiles.
I promise to never let our troubles become more powerful than our love,
Never will I let anyone come between us my love.
Only, will you marry me?
