Cravings in lockdown

Isn’t it funny how some things trigger weird feelings? Like, the minute electricity goes, I feel like having a hot cup of coffee! The minute the sugar finishes, I feel like making tea. Just like when the fast food restaurants closed because of coronavirus, I developed a weird craving for fast food!!! When was the last time I had fast food? Decades ago! If they were still open, would I go eat there? No…. So…. Why these cravings? 🤦

I guess human nature is just weird. Yesterday I spoke to a friend who had posted photos of some fast food with the caption, ‘You don’t know what you got till it’s gone.’ I told her that I also missed fast food as if I ate it everyday and she said she too hardly had fast food… So, what’s happening?

Most of my friends on social media share the same sentiments. People are missing fast food as if it was a daily part of our lives, what is making people miss something probably only tasted once or twice? Something that was as rare to the taste buds as, well, it is now🤣

Lockdown is just playing with our minds!

Good news to those craving KFC, check out this recipe

  1. I crave all sorts of food these days – because I am diabetic. But craves can be managed. I can happily go for weeks with just this background thought that I fancy such-and-such a food. At the moment, I am thinking of chocolate chip cookies! We did go shopping on Tuesday but … we had other priorities.
